Description
The workshop offers education and a terrific opportunity to ring in a massed setting for all levels of handbell musicians. Starting at 9:00 am, if participants want to participate, they have a choice of three hands on coaching and mentoring sessions:
- Weaving,
- 4-in-hand, and
- Revving Up, Festival Prep.
Almost everything will be supplied for the participants, and no prior preparation is needed. Participants will be asked to bring gloves, risers if needed, and binders. There will be some of these items available for loan. Lunch is on your own and refreshments will be provided for the breaks.
Youth (5th grade & up) are welcome at this event.
This event is endorsed by Handbell Musicians of America, dedicated to uniting people through the musical art of handbell and handchime ringing.

Our Clinician – Anne Kelley
Anne Kelley is an enthusiastic handbell director, educator, and ringer who is passionate about the art of handbell ringing. She graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music Education: Choral degree from Northern Arizona University. During her undergraduate career, Anne served as President of the Harold M. Harter Memorial Handbell Choir and was appointed Bellmaster her senior year. Anne currently resides in Apache Junction, Arizona where she teaches K-6 General Music, 3-6 Choir, and two 4-6th Grade Advanced and Beginning Handbell Choirs at Greenfield Elementary School in Gilbert, AZ. She also serves as the Handbell Director at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ. Anne is often invited as a guest conductor to work with secular and sacred handbell choirs around the East Valley. She is also an on-call sub for handbell choirs of different denominations and has served as the clinician of both youth and adult handbell festivals. In July 2021, Anne participated in the HMA Conducting Master Class under the direction of Dr. William Payne. She has taught handbell workshops at different conferences including AzMEA, AzACDA, HMA, Area 11 Festival, and HMA’s Pinnacle event. Anne was the recipient of The Carl Wiltse Scholarship for the 2025 Bay View Week of Handbells and currently serves as Chair for HMA, Area 11.
